SPORTS WIRE Boston sent to Dolphins; Vincent a Bill - Chicago Sun-Times

The Miami Dolphins acquired former Pro Bowl receiver David Bostonfrom the San Diego Chargers for a sixth-round draft choice in 2005and a player to be named, Chargers general manager A.J. Smith saidMonday. The player to be named won't be high-profile.

The teams completed the trade following six days of negotiationsafter Boston accepted a restructured contract. The deal is contingenton Boston passing a physical in Miami. The Dolphins plan to announcethe trade Wednesday.

*Pro Bowl cornerback Troy Vincent agreed to terms with the BuffaloBills, ending a stellar eight-year tenure with the PhiladelphiaEagles.

Vincent's agent, Linda Bodley, told the Associated Press herclient agreed to a six-year deal, choosing Buffalo ahead of theCincinnati Bengals and Kansas City Chiefs.

*Tackle Todd Steussie signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers,becoming the team's fourth free-agent addition to the offensive line.

Meanwhile, former Denver Broncos and Dolphins quarterback BrianGriese visited the Bucs and met with coach Jon Gruden. The team alsoadded backup quarterback Jason Garrett and cornerback Tom Knight.

*The Minnesota Vikings released wide receiver D'Wayne Bates.Bates' future with the Vikings was doomed last week when the teamsigned former Bears and Baltimore Ravens receiver Marcus Robinson.

*Browns quarterback Jeff Garcia was sentenced to seven days in awork-release program after pleading guilty to drunken driving inSanta Clara, Calif.

*Terrell Owens will learn today whether he is headed for theBaltimore Ravens next season or will become a free agent.

Barnett letters made public

In letters sent to recruits and team supporters, suspendedColorado football coach Gary Barnett wrote that the investigation ofalleged sexual assaults by recruits will be a test of the team andits resolve, calling it a 'bump in the road,' the Daily Camerareported.

Eleven letters dated Feb. 11, including one from now interim headcoach Brian Cabral, turned up in more than 10,000 pages of documentsmade public by the university last week as a result of media requestsfor correspondence involving the team.

Klitschko title fight set for L.A.

Vitali Klitschko will fight Corrie Sanders for the WBC heavyweighttitle, left open by the retirement of Lennox Lewis, on April 24 atStaples Center in Los Angeles. An official announcement is expectedtoday.
