THE decision whether Brad Maylett returns from his temporary loan spell at Chester City to his contracted club Boston United will be left up to the player.

City have agreed to allow the 26-year-old winger to return to crisis club Boston and the Manchester-based player is expected to make a decision in the next day.

Chester chairman Stephen Vaughan said last night: 'We want to help Boston, however in these situations, both clubs and the player have to give their consent, we at Chester City are agreeable to his return, so the final decision is now with Brad.'

Boston only have 12 professionals available for their weekend relegation crunch game against Bury, and yesterday it was revealed that they are facing 'forfeiture of the lease' on their York Street ground, because of an unpaid pounds 30,000 rent bill.

If the court action goes against them, they will be evicted from their ground before the season's end.

The Deva Stadium is to become a smoke-free zone from next Monday. As the majority of the ground is situated in Flintshire, the club must comply with the national smoking ban which comes into effect in Wales from April 2.

All public areas of the Deva Stadium and the club's shop and offices will be smoke-free.

Meanwhile, Chester Reserves side lost 4-2 at Preston North End yesterday in the Pontin's League. Goals from Alex Meecham and Paul McManus, gave City a 2-0 lead but Preston hit back to win.
